The Reformed Church Youth Ministry

Dear Parents and Youth,

It's been an exciting new school season thus far. Thanks be to God the Youth Ministry is doing really well. He is definitely at work. Guys' Fridays (and Girls' Fridays as well) have been very well attended and kids have been having a blast. I can speak in particular for the Guys' where the most recent GF was probably one of the best ever. After a quick game of Skyball (where a tennis ball is hit high up in the air and all kids compete to see who can catch it on 1 bounce (2 pts) 2 bounces (4 pts) or thereafter (1pt), we played Ragger. Ragger has been the hot sport of late. It's basically lacrosse without sticks. The boys are loving it. Afterwards we had pizza, a message about God and then played some manhunt. All in all, a solid Friday evening. The 5th and 6th graders also got a chance to hang out with NFL Commish Roger Goodell while playing Flag Football out at the Bronxville High School turf field. This was such a special treat.

The JV Youth Group is also having a great season thus far. Every Wednesday they have been meeting up in the Fellowship Room - each time it seems with a bigger and bigger crowd. They had a blast the last two Wednesdays as we played a tag game using the flag football belts. This past Wednesday was our first ever Church-property scavenger hunt. The kids loved it. We've also had an absolute blast earlier this fall on the Fall Lake Trip to Connecticut.

Varsity Youth Group is going great as well thanks be to God. We are really blessed to have Grace Connors stepping up as Student Youth Leader. She is doing a fabulous job. We have been meeting on Sunday nights. We are reading through the Gospel of John as well as starting to learn some worship music. Audrey Lemberger is now preparing to lead us with her guitar skills. This is the first time a youth has stepped up to do this so it's really something.

As you can tell, lots of things are going on. It is definitely busy. We are trying to teach the youth through it all though that God indeed is good -and loves them dearly. And that life to the full (not only here and now but to eternity) is found in His Son Jesus Christ. We are honored to be able to walk with these youths.
